Workforce Education (WE) at Davis Technical College provides companies and individuals with the latest knowledge and skills needed to maintain employment. These skills will make you and/or your company highly marketable and valuable. The courses found within WE expand the range of educational opportunities offered by the College and are designed to effectively train your workforce using cutting edge industry methods.

- Students in this course will learn critical concepts of high-quality CPR, with an advanced airway as well as the American Heart Association Chain of Survival both inside and outside hospital settings. Instruction will include 1 and 2-rescuer CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillation (AED), bag-mask techniques, rescue breathing, relief of choking for adults, children and infants. Students will also learn differences between adult, child and infant rescue with emphasis on team resuscitation. This course is ideal for learners who prefer group interaction and feedback from an instructor while practicing skills. Books for this course are available in the Davis Technical College Bookstore or online at http://ebooks.heart.org/. Classroom copies will be provided for student use during the course.

- Prepare for environmental health with our ONLINE Emissions training. Gain expertise in monitoring emissions from vehicles and more. Topics include air quality standards, monitoring techniques, data analysis, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance. Learn through videos, case studies, and ethical considerations. After completion, you'll be ready to ensure emissions compliance and safeguard public health.

- The Executive Leadership Series includes six dynamic sessions designed for CEOs and Executives to bolster communications, evolve companies, and elevate leadership skills.

- Forklift Certification is for new and seasoned operators and will provide instruction on how to operate a forklift properly, perform inspections, and the safety measures necessary to prevent injuries and fatalities. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certification card that is valid for three years.

- The 24-Hour HAZWOPER course is required for employees in an uncontrolled hazardous waste operation mandated by the Government. This course fulfills your certification under 29 CFR, Part 1910.120 (e), or other applicable state regulations for certification to the 24-hour Occasional Site Worker level.

- The 8-Hour annual refresher HAZWOPER course meets the requirements in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for workers at hazardous waste sites. This course is designed for general site workers who remove hazardous waste, or who are exposed to (or potentially exposed to) hazardous substances and/or health hazards.

- The International Plumbing Code (IPC) Update course meets DOPL’s requirements for a licensed plumber’s continuing education credits for the renewal of their license. This course covers the most significant IPC and International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) Code changes. You will review general regulations, fixtures, faucets and fixture fittings, water heaters, water distribution, drainage, venting and storm drainage sizing and gas piping installations.

- The National Electric Code Update (NEC) course meets DOPL’s requirements for a licensed electrician’s continuing education credits for the renewal of their license. This course covers changes in the national and state codes, including additions, deletions, and highlights of the most pertinent and commonly encountered changes.

- Vehicle Safety Inspection: Heavy Duty provides the necessary training and testing for individuals performing heavy duty inspections on diesel trucks, trailers and buses. This is a refresher course on inspecting engines, fluids, tires, and brake systems.

Hill Air Force Base Partnership
Davis Technical College takes an active role in supporting Hill AFB with its training needs. For over 40 years the college has been providing trainings directly in line with enhancing its workforce. This includes the Federal Pathways Internship Program (previously S.C.E.P).
